I deleted your duplicate post. We 're not responding because there is no simple answer. Audacity has no tools that work in real time, so you would have to build the effect which is not simple.

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
Allo, allo, allo. We can't play an AUP file. That's only the Audacity Project Programming and Management text file. Anyway, the WAV file (Ambient Noise File) works fine. You are very low volume. The background fffffffff noise is in the 60s where I would expect it, but your voice is -25 or so and it ...

Re: Create many tracks from one long WAV file
You can place a label at the beginning of each segment that you want exported as a separate sound file (don't forget the first one). Then File > Export Multiple.

There are hot keys to place labels.

Re: [Help] Removing backround nosie doesn't work.
The first step in Noise Removal, the Profile step is super important. If you have to, sit in front of the microphone for several seconds and make a recording with you not moving and holding your breath. The object is to capture Just The Noise and nothing else. You have to be there because the noise ...

Re: [Help] Removing backround nosie doesn't work.
If the fan noise is really bad, you don't remove it. Really bad noise interferes with voice quality and you pretty much can't separate them. You can sometimes take the recording down to CIA and FBI style honky recordings, but you can't go back to a presentation voice podcast. http://manual.audacityt...

Re: Recording from turntable, very quiet and echoey
Do you hear the dog barking, too? Chances are you are recording the laptop built-in microphone, not the turntable connection. You could also be recording Stereo Mix or one of the other self-recording connections. Do you like to record YouTube music? Then it may be this one. http://manual.audacitytea...

This is one of mine.

No, I don't mix anything on earbuds. They were graphically convenient.

Re: its recording everything around not just the mix
This one is dead simple. It has no adjustments other than to allow the headphones to hear the computer playback or not (used in Overdubbing). You do have to know to switch to it in Audacity. Plug it in, then start Audacity. Use the Audacity Device Toolbar and look for USB Audio Codec . It's not goin...

Re: Can't find Export Library
It stands for Lame Ain't an MP3 Encoder. It's a recursive joke. Programmers don't get out much.
Last time I did this, I put it in Plugins under the Audacity Program Folder and then pointed to it.
Audacity > Preferences > Libraries

Re: Converting Audio Track to .wav
Yes, and we totally believe you. Really. It is for a friend.
Sound on an Audio CD is not arranged in sound files. You need to use a CD Ripping Program to convert from CD format to WAV.
Mac people just do it in iTunes. I don't remember the program I used to use in Windows.
Here it is. CDex
