Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
Only the power cord and the microphone cable. Disconnect the UCA202 and all other cables. Clear the decks. When you connect the headphones, connect to the mixer directly. I think you're beyond what we can do. If the knobs on the mixer are as I listed in the thread, you plug the microphone in and yo...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
I don't think he understands the seriousness of the problem. He's checking for sound in the -8 range. This last clip is in the -30 range.

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
they are all raw, That's why none of the filters and effects are working. They all depend on the original work being roughly in the ball park. Yours are, like I said a good 1/8 of what they should be. There is another poster who is trying as much as possible to ignore his mixer which is clearly not...

Re: What does this mean?
If you make the equalizer wider on your screen, the graphic system will fill in the missing slider labels.

It's good you wrote that down because they appear to be, for the most part correct, if incomprehensible. Did they suggest how you're supposed to listen to your performance to set these values? That will kill you way before actually sliding correction adjustments around. For example, 60, 100 and belo...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
Oooooooh. I think I slowly get what's going on. You're posting the after-processing client delivery clips. Those are miles away from where they're supposed to be. Post a raw capture. Talk, Export, Post. No processing, no effects and no filters. I suspect those are going to be studio perfect and we j...

Re: hum on recording
I get a dreadful hum after transferring to CD. How about before that? After you capture the music and the show is still in Audacity? I have wound up the input to around -6 DB. Is this too much input? While it's a reassuring idea to have one place to put all the controls and leave them there forever...

Re: Combining tracks possible?
So far you have very high quality CD Rips. Do NOT involve MP3 anywhere in the process. Stay with WAV format. Did you get metadata with the rip? I'm surprised because Audio CDs do not normally carry titles or metadata. When you play a CD on the computer, the computer goes on-line and looks all that s...
