Re: Set Audio File between -23db and -18db
The purists will cringe as that is a "rock band" microphone, but it has a lot of the characteristics needed for home podcasting and audio books, and it doesn't cost a million dollars. It's almost unbreakable (although I would not try to break it, or blow into it or any microphone).

Re: low volume and hum using mic
So to recap. You started out life with the little microphone USB cable which was insanely convenient, but didn't work very well. Graduate to a much higher end microphone digitizer which is larger, not quite as convenient, and works better, but still no award-winner. This one has controls on it and y...

Re: low volume and hum using mic
I certainly didn't intend to make trouble here. Don't get discouraged. Your requirements are perfectly ordinary, it's the solutions that tend to be difficult. You went right from concept to trying to produce a finished, polished, marketable work. People pay me to make good recordings, it's not as e...

Change the microphone or get very friendly. The CO1U only works from its front.

Re: low volume and hum using mic
I'm a little fuzzy here, but If you need ASIO software to get the microphone to do all its tricks, that may be a problem. Audacity doesn't natively work with ASIO software.

Re: hum on recording
Audio CDs always have the same very high quality. Their capacity is measured in minutes, not compression quality. Audacity default audio sound quality is 44100 (lower left Audacity window) and if you choose the default export, it will give you a 16-bit WAV music file. Audio CD format is 44100/16-bit...

Re: Set Audio File between -23db and -18db
I don't agree. It's very good to know how far below. -61 is brittle/borderline and easily pushed over the edge.1) It (still) does not measure below -60 dB (not required for its intended purpose).
