Re: input too loud

SpeedLink USB Web page. They only make about a thousand different things. Chances are terrific it's going to be a version of StarTech ICUSBAUDIO. http://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/Sound/USB-Audio/USB-20-to-Audio-Adapter~ICUSBAUDIO That's a headset adapter with stereo headphone and super sensit...

Re: Nyquist Plugins basic info needed

Wouldn't you just dump that into the /Audacity/plugins folder and restart Audacity? I'm not a Windows elf, but it's supposed to be that easy. It may not be easy to find it after you do that. It may not show up with the same effects name as the filename. It will be a name near the bottom of the effec...

Re: Line in not working/not appearing.

OK, well, that's three. You can use the second headphone output of the keyboard assuming you can control each independently of the other. If you can't, then the headphone volume controls are going to mess with your recording. You can listen to the computer speaker or headphone connection, but on mos...

Re: Line in not working/not appearing.

One shortcoming with the way we do it. You can't listen to the computer speakers when you play, the sound will be late or an echo. So I split the keyboard headphone wires. One split into a set for my amp and speakers and the other split goes to the computer for recording. Another way to do it is tak...

Re: Line in not working/not appearing.

No software. If you have a relatively modern computer, you plug it in and it just starts working. It's a simple Stereo Audio Input/Output. I'm assuming I can plug in my audio cable to this Behringer UCA202 device, the other end to headphones slot in my piano and my laptop should be able to recognise...

Re: input too loud

What kind of Mac, and do you have two audio connectors that look like this: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg If not, you may be able to look in Apple > System Preferences > Sound and switch what you have to a stereo connection. If all that fails, then you may be a candidate f...

Re: ID3V1 vs. ID3V2 issue

Audacity handling of comments isn't perfect, so I'm not shocked that if you combined the two versions you could get unpredictable results. Are you working in WAV format? WAV files have their own problems.

You can multi-task all you want, just not on that machine.

Do you have other mixed published? Where?

Re: Very poor sound quality on export to M4A

My export default for M4A is 40. Try that once to see what happens. It's remotely possible that FFMpeg isn't following the Audacity settings and you're actually getting a really low compression instead of Highest Possible.

Re: Recorded Facebook Bleeps

You can cut out the bad sound as long as it happened during silent parts of the show. If you have music and bad sound at the same time, you're dead.
