Re: Blue Yeti not working on my computer????

We never found out which Windows. Switch the Yeti to Cardioid (heart or kidney shaped pattern). Don't try to use stereo or the other modes. I checked on another computer and as far as I can tell it did work, although I'll need to check again to make sure. Another Windows computer the same version as...

Re: Recording stops when using playback in another window 2.

You should not be directly converting to MP3. You should export from Audacity in high quality WAV and use that for archive and production. Then use those to create the lower quality MP3 for your personal music player or other uses. If you have an option, listen to the WAVs. MP3 always creates compre...

We then want to analyse how many words are said by each participant in a given time and the gaps between words. I can think of one problem without working too hard. How are you going to generate the "sterile environment?" It's not impossible to split words and expressions in a studio reco...

Re: .AU files should be named sequentially (Audacity crashed

"Cannot write file" and something about the disk being "full or write protected" That's one of the errors you get when you put punctuation marks in the filename. Windows goes charging off looking for a drive, folder or directory that doesn't exist. That happens when people put d...

Re: Buzz on Recording, Not Sure What to Do

Quiet hiss is always there in every microphone system. The object is to record with your voice loud enough to overpower it. If recording loud gives you the hum problem, then it's possible you may never get there. Post Production patches and rescue filters always sound funny. A while ago I did a voic...

Re: No ASIO support?

Part of the overdubbing tutorial has three certified hardware devices that will allow perfect overdubbing—a live, theatrically correct headphone feed of your overdubbing session. They all make you listen to the device, not the computer. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/samsonGTrackConnections....

Re: expand single track to 2 track

And if you're completely obsessive, Duplicate the one remaining track (Control-D?) and using the dropdown menu on the left > Make Stereo Track.

But one Mono track should play to both speakers as well as a fully-formed Stereo track.

Re: no sound from Focusrite to Audacity

I can't actually say that, because the instructions didn't say that, but that's my guess. Check Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Recording. Make sure that panel has the right number of audio channels. I know if you cross mono and stereo by accident, the system won't work. Also Preferences > Qualit...
