Re: Audacity 2.0.6 Windows 7, problems with multitrack (over

Thank you for your test clips. This is from from first clip. I did see something that went by you. Attach #1 is a blast of odd sound just past 1:07. Attach 2 is the same segment where I told Audacity to show me serious overload (in red). So something at that instant made the digital sound channel co...

Re: trying to export my cut version of a song track

Why is this so hard? Because you don't have the feel for the tools yet. You can create a new track out of segments of older tracks without Exporting or Saving. But if you do, use WAV (Microsoft)... until the final show. WAV doesn't create sound damage like MP3 does. Import your original songs and t...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 Windows 7, problems with multitrack (over

Assuming they're two mono tracks, use the left-hand track drop-down > Make Stereo Track. Drag-select the first 6 seconds (assuming there's a stutter) and File > Export Selection: WAV (Microsoft).... If that doesn't include any damage, drag-select 6 seconds that does. Post it here. http://forum.audac...

Re: recording from cassette suddenly stops

It's probably a good idea to get the latest Audacity 2.0.6. but maybe we should see what the problem is first.

Re: recording from cassette suddenly stops

Suddenly Stopped Working For No Reason on the video forums usually means the hard drive filled up. Do you have a good amount of hard drive left for your work? Audio (and video) fill up a drive far faster than spreadsheets or emails. You checked all of your cables? Audacity will stop dead if the data...

Re: Suddenly picking up computer hum after spontaneous stop

OK, that would do it. If the webcam went off-line, Audacity would halt, but the computer would pick it right up again from the laptop built-in microphone. The one with the fan noise. There is an easy way to tell where you're recording from. The scratch test. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/Scra...

Re: low recording level

http://www.pauljoy.com/tascam-dr-100mkii-vs-zoom-h4n-review/ My preference would be the Tascam. I agree with the reviewer, I've never seen a need to record from all four channels at once. And that can just give you multi-channel file problems downstream. Google complaints. Anybody can write fuzzy-wa...
