Re: Eliminate "Export Selection"

I note there was a recent posting from someone who expected Export to follow his selection. What else would you want? Just because you got used to using an odd tool doesn't mean it's desirable or universally expected. Koz

Re: Recording Clarity

The sound coming from a phono cartridge isn't regular audio like plugging in a cassette machine. It has intentional RIAA distortion needed to make music fit in the grooves. If you don't take the distortion out, the shows will sound very tinny and gutless. That's what the Phono-In of entertainment sy...

Re: Please check out my room tone

If you do Room Tone again, hold your breath and freeze. No movement at all. I don't know what the ACX spec is, but we don't need more than two or three seconds. The presence of your body affects the microphone, so yes, you do have to be there. Just because I haven't thrown mud in a long time: That w...

Re: Please check out my room tone

There is a very low level hum in the background
Right. I see it. 60Hz at -73 by my count with a 120Hz down at -80 or so.

I don't know that I would worry about it, either.

Where did you get the idea for your kit?

Re: Please check out my room tone

I'm going to have to sit down for a minute. That was a terrific recording. You should have no trouble producing any deliverable you wish with any of the common sound specifications. As I said, just sheering off the slightly loud "Hello" and I could make ACX Audiobook compliance with very l...

Re: internal transfeer

Sound on an Audio CD is in special, space-saving format. It's not normal sound files. To transfer from a CD you have to "rip" the work with a CD Ripper program such as iTunes or CDex.

Re: How to get rid of a lot of extra background noise

Probably not worth the effort. Your show violates #4. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don't record the show in your mum's kitchen.) -- 2. Overload and Clipping (Sound that's recorded too loud is permanently tras...

What are you recording?

"I'm trying to record my voice with a gaming headset connected to a Lenovo laptop."

Re: Static noise with multiple USB microphones

Jury's out on the USB noise thing. It seems that if you have enough processing in your USB device, the noise isn't a problem. There is a recent posting of someone using a Shure X2U and easily passes noise, but I don't know how much processing they did because they didn't post the raw capture. ACX ap...

Re: How to get rid of a lot of extra background noise

Probably not without making the voices sound funny. You hit one of the scenarios we can't help very well. Is the clip posted anywhere we can download and try it?
