What are you recording? What is the show? Are you recording a USB microphone?

Re: Original Voice is disturbed
You don't need to show us the sound. Effect > Noise Removal works on both the bad and the good sound. If you use very high values of noise reduction, the show will not sound good. Go back to the original show (you saved it as a WAV, right? Audacity is not good editing MP3.) and do Noise Removal agai...

Can you shoot it again? You don't have a show yet.

Re: noise remove problem.
Audacity can't remove traffic noises. Effect > Noise Removal only works with quiet noises that don't change. It can't take out airplanes either. Their noise is always changing. Noise Removal is good for quiet microphone hum or a refrigerator fan. Sometimes computer fan. There is a plugin effect call...

Re: The Amplify effect has a side effect
Who made the original FLAC? Given there isn't something broken, FLAC is a compressed format and they pay attention to show content. Part of the show content is the dither signal that Audacity adds to the show. Audacity works internally at 32-floating, not 16. When you export, assuming you come back ...

Re: Audacity either records my mic or the computer? I need B
The local microphone? Yes, if the game and other software lets you. Audacity doesn't Play Well With Others and trying to strong-arm the sound channels can be very entertaining. Try it. Using the Device Toolbar, select your microphone or mic service, make sure it works OK and then try to run everythi...

Re: Is it possible to remove that noise ?
Voice Enhancing Tools work like your cellphone does. They try to determine what's your voice and what's background noise, generally by assuming anything which doesn't change is noise and subject to removal. That's why they hate music. Any sustained musical note gets killed. That's not to say they're...

Re: Yet Another ACX Noob
From the ACX listings, a "room tone" segment is required for submission. It's required for submission here, too if you want us to tell you what's wrong and how to fix it. You can slate it so there's no mistaking what you're doing. You can submit ten seconds of WAV at 44100, 16-bit, mono on...

Re: tascam dr 40 /zoom H4N
A common mistake with stand-alone recorders is to use them as a live microphone connected to the computer with USB. That means you're limited to the length of the cable and you need to have a perfectly quiet computer and usually, you need to have wall power. All those problems go away if you use the...

Re: tascam dr 40 /zoom H4N
If they're both certified for use with your computer, then I think they'll both work pretty well for you. When you're stuck with a decision like this, Google for complaints. Anybody can write a good review, but it's good to hear from people that have problems. What's the show? What are you recording...
