Re: Sound on Mac not working
If you have blue waves and a bouncing sound meter, then you are making a recording whether or not you can hear it. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg Never run speakers and a live microphone in the same room. You should be on headphones. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/wynonna2.j...

Re: Converting MP3 taking a long time
250GB SSD with 30GB left open. Half-hour stereo show. Export to MP3 at 128 quality. It took me 1.5 minutes. Extrapolate to a two hour show that's 6 minutes. Do it on a syrup-slow drive and yes, I can see where that would take you a half hour to encode.

Re: Converting MP3 taking a long time
Do you have a Solid State Drive, or spinning metal? A friend and I have similar machines. I have the SSD and he has conventional. I tried to do something on his machine and I thought it was broken. It was like wading through waist-high snow. There was a recent posting saying an SSD is required for s...

Re: Sound Quality Reduced on Player
I would expect what you're doing to sound perfect. ????????? After you export to a file and then copy it to your device, does it still sound OK if you Import that same file back into Audacity? A perfect sound file will have good size blue waves that never hit top or bottom. The bouncing green sound ...
Re: balance
You can use the balance control to the left of the blue waves. You need to use the bouncing green sound meters to set it. The effect doesn't appear on the blue waves. The change affects the export.

You can post a short sample on the forum. Stereo WAV is only 5 seconds. MP3 can be longer.

Re: Sound Quality Reduced on Player
There's a lot of holes in that story and we live in fine details. I edit, add music and export in a high quality wav, but once it is put onto a music player, the sound is terrible. You mentioned multiple music players. Which ones? Specifically. I have an original issue iPod Touch® and an older 20GB ...

If you have short stories in WAV format (not MP3), you can drop them in an Audio CD Authoring Program such as iTunes or Windows Media. The program will allow you to shuffle the stories around however you want and then burn them to a blank disk in the order you picked. The stories will have 2 seconds...
