Re: My Blue Yeti is making an annoying buzzing sound
Some of that is the air conditioner or fans in your room, but what's left is our old friend USB Frying Mosquitoes. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/FryingMosquitoes3.wav Another poster, flynwill, has been doing noise tests with an eye to getting rid of it. I'll see if he's any further along. It'...

OK, I think I get the link now. You're using an AT-2035. But you can't plug one of those into a MacBook Pro. How did you get there? Koz

Note how far apart these two are. That's not accidental. You can't see it, but they're sitting on a WNYC SoundStage.

Re: re: recording in higher quality than when exporting...
Dynamic (moving coil) microphones have no noise. They are a coil of wire next to a magnet. Full Stop. Their only noise comes when the producer/announcer has to amplify the sound signal so it will be useful downstream. Raw microphone signals are molecular-level small. And that brings you to the Micro...

Re: First 'official' master
It was a shock. It's not normal for somebody to drop a clip on us that I can't find anything to fix.
Now, about that description of how you shot it.

I'm using Aud ver 2.o4 Windows XP Recording streaming audio with no problems! If that's really 2.0.4, you should upgrade to Audacity 2.0.6. http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Audacity will not Save a sound file. It will only save projects which have an AUP manager file and a _DATA folder with...

Re: Phone interview sound quality
Personal Recorders don't record both sides of the conversation. Just you. Her side was the leakage and echo cancellation errors on your cellphone which is why it sounds terrible. If that was working correctly, she wouldn't be there at all. You should find an app that actually records both sides... a...

Re: noise removal option fails to get noise profile
Noise Removal only works on well-behaved noise. It does OK with microphone hum or computer fan noise in your "studio," but it can't do much for traffic noises, jets going over, conversations, TV set or other noises that constantly change. We may be able to help a little with the constant b...

Re: A few questions re headphones for audio book recording..
Note I also said that the Hollywood standard for headphones was the Sony MDR-7506. They made it out of years of hard use and satisfying all the physical, electrical and sound requirements of field recording. I know people on their third pair. If you ask somebody to borrow their headphones, there's a...

Re: re: recording in higher quality than when exporting...
they were acting like a 16-bit interface was just too noisy for podcasting work That's misleading. 24-bit recording tends to be only available on higher quality microphones. Had they forced a 24-bit microphone to record in 16-bit, it would be fine. We have demonstrated several times that you can do...
