Re: "Crunchy" Sound in my Voiceover
I don't hear anything wrong with that, either. I don't hear any room echoes or other distortions. How did you do that? Most new users sound like they're recording in a kitchen or bathroom. It's not that unusual for people to have more trouble with the computer than the microphone. Particularly if yo...

Re: "Crunchy" Sound in my Voiceover
Screen Shot 2020-11-04 at 10.43.00.png There's a Fifine K668 Condenser Microphone. That it? It's a good idea to start with a quiet, echo-free room and then it doesn't much matter what microphone you have. And yes, that's a condenser type microphone, not dynamic. I haven't heard any of your voice ye...

Re: NOT a raw file. Am I in trouble?
I spent weeks cutting out the bad takes of my voice actor. And just in case we swooshed right over a very important point, you do have a protective backup of the originally supplied voice , right? If your computer burst into flame you would be able to load the thumb drive or cloud backup into a new...

Re: Voice Recording with TC Helicon Voiceplay
The forum elves have been comparing notes and we think it's suspicious that a lot of similar failures have posted at about the same time. Almost like we're fighting an operating system update. You're Windows 10, right?

And post back if you find it. We're also tracking an apparent failure of multiple Windows users all at about the same time.Good luck.

And do post back if that solves it. There are several posters with the same problem.Open the Windows Sound control panel and ensure that the sample rate for the Focusrite is the same in both the Recording tab and the Playback tab.

Re: Voice Recording with TC Helicon Voiceplay
You should forget about the music mixing job for a while and make sure all the separate parts of the system work as they are supposed to. What I meant was make sure the individual pieces work fine when you're in overdubbing . They don't, do they? Close and restart Audacity. Set overdubbing like thi...

Re: Audacity is "stuck" at zero and won't record
I can get sound to record, but both record and playback cursors will just freeze when I press record. Can you take that again and use different words. Simple recording works but overdubbing fails? Not unusual. Overdubbing is the first time record and playback both have to work at once. You can get ...

Re: Audacity is "stuck" at zero and won't record
I'm working up an overdubbing test process since so many people have trouble with this. We should note that in proper overdubbing, the computer has to play sounds to you absolutely perfectly at the exact same time that it's perfectly recording your new performance. That's not easy. Sound errors in e...
