I'm going with no. This and the sleep-learning and subliminal systems are in the same boat. Trick you into hearing something that's not there.

Re: Podcast with Interview need suggestions on Hardware
The Mackie appears to be a stereo mixer with USB connection. If Windows can find it, Audacity should be able to find it. It looks like it can do the overdubbing mix trick, too, so if you have a hankerin' to sing all four Mills Brothers by yourself, you're all set. The 7506 headphones are found on ev...

Re: Podcast with Interview need suggestions on Hardware
Delightful mixer, but it will only do four microphones (attach). The "eight channel" thing counts all the other stereo and mono inputs such as connecting a tape machine, cassette player, or musical instrument. You can't use the headsets for interviews. Nobody will sit still for you fiddlin...

Re: How does one merge AUP files ?
If you're on a Mac, that's what QuickTime Player does. Open all the songs in QuickTime, create a playlist and burn the playlist to disk. While the songs are inside the playlist, QuickTime will let you arrange the songs in any order you wish, and you can pick the length of the silence between tracks....

Re: Cleaning up a cassette tape recording
This is the manual entry on Noise Removal. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/noise_removal.html The bumper sticker version is to drag select some portion of the noise only and make that the profile. The next time you run Noise Removal, it will try to subtract that sound from the show. If you get ...

Re: Cleaning up a cassette tape recording
Did you see the entire track turns gray (selects) when you do that? All Normalize does is turn the volume up and down (and a couple of odd tricks). It doesn't magically make everything all better like the name suggests. Noise Removal is something of a violin. It's best in experienced hands. If you h...

Re: removing background noise
So. It's an analog headset with one of the connection options being an 1/8" plug with three black or dark bands, right? Or does it connect with two separate plugs like this?

Re: removing background noise
Thank you. That's perfect. Now I need to read through that again and match model numbers. That's not normal microphone noise. Normal production microphone noise is higher pitched and more piercing. Also, this stuff goes way down into the bass notes where I need the tools to even tell that it's there...

Re: psychoaccoustics?
I have one of those. I have a constant hum in everything I shoot, due, I think, to the high tension power lines over the house. Doesn't matter which microphone or how I do it, there is classic 60/120/240 buzz in everything. I used to think I had broken microphones, but I don't think that any more. I...

Re: removing background noise
Post a WAV test of your studio. Start a recording, hold your breath and freeze for two seconds and then speak in a normal recording tone of voice. Stop at ten seconds. You can post ten seconds of mono voice on the forum. Scroll down to "Upload Attachment," or: http://forum.audacityteam.org...
