There is one other "trick." I can't believe you were the only person to record that. Start calling around.

Re: Removing reverb from a recording
Thank you. No. The recordist was just too far in the back of the hall. If you can't get your microphone in the speaker's face, http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/microphoneNewsCluster.jpg Or do a one-on-one, http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ShotGunInterview.jpg Then the only other trick is stand n...

Re: Improving telephone quality recording
recorded an interview over the telephone Actually over a cellphone, not a telephone, right? Were you running software that claims to be able to record both directions? Most recording applications will not record the far end. Personal Recorder will not record the far end. It sounds like you are reco...

Re: Resonanace on recorded voice
Echo and reverberation is difficult to remove because it's really the performer's voice reflecting from the walls. So you are not trying to remove a foreign sound. You are asking the software to remove the performer from herself.

Re: Ripping audiobooks on multiple CDs
First and last time I ripped an audiobook, I made the CDs into numbered playlists. Those work on an iPod just fine.

Re: Setting 192 Bitrate
Reading between the lines in your post, you are exporting an MP3 and you want to set the bitrate of the resulting file. First you must have the Lame software package installed so that Audacity will make a new MP3 file. Not happening without that. Then it's File > Export Audio > Format: MP3, Options:...
