Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

You mean past the wrong notes? You got some serious room resonance issues. I bet I can tell you how large your garage is by analyzing the honky bass line. No, wait. The garage probably would have worked out pretty well assuming it's as full of stuff as mine is. I bet you're in a bedroom with bare fl...

Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

I need to get to a machine with actual speakers. My laptop speakers think it's fine which tells us nothing.

Re: Matching two audio tracks

If the different environments involve echo or room resonance, it will be an uphill battle / borderline impossible. We can't manage echoes at all and room resonances frequently overload the recording channel. We can't manage overload, either.

Re: USB Audio option not always available

The USB device has to be plugged in and perfectly working before you open Audacity. If you get the order wrong, you can have a perfectly working USB device and it will be invisible to Audacity. You can force Audacity to look for USB devices after the fact with Transport > Rescan... You can get serio...

Re: Identify and suggest plugins used in this recording?

I bet if you did it just right, the pro presenter could "hand it off" to you in a different studio and nobody would know. I don't hear any clues or problems that would suggest it was recorded in a garage.

Re: Identify and suggest plugins used in this recording?

It was whipped out on a dead run. The equalizer didn't even follow me, see the two different curves at the extreme low end. It was listen and get close. You could get even closer by reading slightly slower. No filters needed. If it's a highly directional microphone, getting slightly closer will impr...
