Re: Copying left channel to right

Isn't the H1 stereo? How are you getting a single audio track out of it?

You can convert your existing tracks to Mono with the Drop-Down menus to the left of the track. Split stereo track to Mono. Delete the dead track.

Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

I published a little sound clip as an example of the scratch test to see which microphone I'm recording from. Do you know where the microphone on your laptop is? Mine's just to the left of the left-hand SHIFT key. The laptop two before this one was up near the camera on the lid. Reach up and scratch...

I'll do the full-on analysis when it's actually daytime in this time zone, but you appear to have a common problem with the specifications. Remember the oddity that smaller numbers are louder. Zero is maximum loudness. Minus 70 is very quiet. The first number, loudness is about right, but the other ...

Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

Again, I don't know how you operate, but you need to connect your USB stuff first and then start Audacity. If you do it out of order, the USB pedal may not show up for recording in Audacity. Once Audacity is running, you can force a connection no matter what with Transport > Rescan... That and the D...

Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

It's totally possible there's something else wrong or there's nothing wrong. I can't see what you're doing. I can only go with how it sounds on a good sound system. I can tell you that to my ears you hit a couple of clunker notes during the song that didn't go with the rest of the musical theme and ...

Lying semi-comatose in front of the steaming microphone, a half drunk class of Welches grape juice spilled nearby staining the script pages. I can paint with verbs..... Koz, you should have already checked your e-mail, slacker. I had to get rid of my slacker account. It crashed too often. I did chec...

Re: How does one merge AUP files ?

I'm on iTunes 12.1. The last couple of iTunes "improvements" have been widely derided as being almost unworkable. But one thing they almost always get right it to push New Music into your face at every opportunity. That's why I posted the picture of my iTunes screen. You have to hit all th...

Re: Batch Processing iTunes Songs

There's a better reason not to do that. Audacity doesn't directly edit MP3 or AAC files. It imports them, works on them and then exports the music to a whole new file , effectively doubling the compression sound damage. MP3 isn't "free." It gets the small files by deleting portions of the ...

Re: could this sound better. quality wise.

i was recording directly into my computer from a guitar effects pedall into my tascam interface and into my computer I would say that's what you think you were recording. That leading throbbing rhythm note (I'm calling it the bass note) has all the symptoms of being recorded from your laptop built-...

What's the next book?

I suspect air conditioning the studio is going to take priority over discretionary distributions.
LA has had 90 (32C) degree-days already. Do you still have to come out every five minutes or so and gasp for air?
