If it's streaming download, I think your only chance is Stereo Mix. Recording what's playing on the computer in real time.

Another common problem is selection. On the second pass, did you select the whole track? If not, the original selection is likely to still be there and nose reduction will only affect that small segment.

There's another oblique troubleshooting technique. Can you make it worse? Again, that doesn't directly help you, but if you do something or push a button and the problem changes or gets worse, that can be very valuable to know.
