Re: How? music through headphones while doing voiceover

That doesn't actually add voiceover. That gives you a separate clean track with your voice on it and a separate clean track with the music. Post-production, filtering, effects and mixing is entirely up to you.

Re: How? music through headphones while doing voiceover

Close enough. Since you will not need to hear your actual voice, you can set up for a simple Overdubbing session. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html If you do require to hear your live voice in addition to the music, that can be sticky and much more com...

Re: CleanUp Audio Filter

I've always wondered how those MGM stars like Gene Kelly got away "Singing in the Rain" while splashing milk-water around. Soundstage on the MGM lot in Culver City and sync-singing in an ADR session during post production would be my guess. It was only just recently that they paved over t...

Re: Low volume, high-pitched sound with every recording

So we have the problem with "Microphone Sound," "USB," and "Inexpensive" in the same sentence. Luck enters into it as well. — The UCA-202 only has the problem in very, very tiny amounts because it's Line (high) Level, not Microphone Level. — The Shure X2U doesn't have t...

Re: Low hum when monitoring/recording

It should have worked in the silent gaps between songs (assuming the sound was the same — that's important). It will probably not work during music, dialog or singing because Audacity turns Noise Removal off during show sound to avoid destroying the quality of the performance. This is set with the S...

My assessment is you should be paid to use it.

Re: Unable to hear audio!

If you got roughly the right size blue waves and bouncing red recording meters, then you are getting a recording whether or not you can hear it. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg Routing sound into Audacity and then hearing it afterwards can be challenging. Did you get the blue...

Re: CleanUp Audio Filter

There's a version of that same intersection with the wind sock and minus the Harley. It's a lot less impressive. The construction crane was putting the finishing touches on a bowling alley sign and everybody's attention was somewhere else. Apparently, I completely flummoxed the crew over on the vide...

And yes, you do have that hum back there. You should get rid of that before you go any further. That will make post production with multiple tracks a nightmare.

Bad version:

Re: here is something i recenlty created in audacity.

It's all overdubbing, right? Did you make each drum piece its own track, or jam them all together on one track to the beat? Is that really you on lead guitar? We've been burned with someone presenting their terrific, mixed "finished work" only to find that of all the instruments, they only...
