Re: Only static when recording YouTube
If Audacity is recording correctly, you will get bouncing red sound meters and blue waves along a timeline. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg You can also get the bouncing red meters if you right-click on them > Start Monitoring. That's useful for troubleshooting. It runs the m...

Re: Help with EFFECTS
I have WORD on my MAC I won't tell a soul. Another way to do that is screen capture the text and print that on the CD papers. No LIST (attached). I meant copy a list of the songs you like from the iTunes store and accumulate them for a massive downloading later. Can't be done as far as I can see. Koz

Re: Recordings missing
You don't need Append Record. Save the Project and then just Record.
We're also assuming you called the show something simple without a lot of punctuation marks in it. Dates can cause problems inside filenames.

Re: successfully merge mp3 files
Yes. You have to select all of them by shift-clicking above MUTE on each track and then Tracks > Align Tracks

Re: Recordings missing
It's possible you may need Append Record (Shift-R) rather than straight record. I'm fuzzy on how that part works. Please let us know if that worked. This is Audacity 2.1.0.
No, it's not supposed to do that. We're still tracking down some odd errors.

Re: Recordings missing
Try this. Before you need to record, open Audacity and save the Project somewhere you know like your desktop. Then press Record and the show shouldn't vanish when you press stop. Try it on a minute show.

Re: successfully merge mp3 files
Import all your shows and they will stack one above the other and play at the same time. Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End. You may have to Shift- Select them all by clicking just above the MUTE buttons. I forget how that part works. That should string them out and Export will smash them into...

Re: Recordings missing
Did you make a recording? You should get accumulating blue waves and bouncing red recording meters if you were actually making a recording. If your display is a thin blue horizontal line, you didn't record anything. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg You should select the headph...

Re: Cannot record narration
We can't see what you're doing, so specifics are good. We live on model numbers and connection details. Checking your microphone with another program is good. That proves the microphone and computer are working, but now you need to establish the Audacity connection. The connections can be very diffe...
