Re: recording with 2 usb mics
a device that can sync them together in some way? I don't know of one. As long as you keep the two sound streams separate, you have a fighting chance of fixing drift issues later. You can throw money. There are sound recorders designed to be perfect and match video recorders and each other with lit...

Re: Link audio with video
you usually can't zoom into the waves that much. Mostly because video sound editing is clamped to the video framerate. Most of the time you want to get the sound away from the video so you can do precise, delicate editing—and then push them back together again when you get what you want. So that's ...

Re: recording with 2 usb mics
By "Sync" we're not talking about having one person further from the microphone than the other or interrupting each other. Each USB microphone has a digital clock-timer inside. That's what makes the 44100 or 48000 sampling rate. Unless you paid an eye-watering amount for the microphones, t...

Re: recording with 2 usb mics
Record them on two different computers. Then it's a snap to resolve any timing problems with Effect > Change Speed. If you use the Aggregate Device trick, I believe the Mac will smash both sounds together into one channel. If there is any timing difference between the two microphones or you have a l...

Re: Delayed echo on vocal overdub
I bet I can do some of this. For perfect overdubbing (you hear a perfect theatrical mix between the backing track and your voice) you should plug your wired headphones into the Nano. No option. Any live voice coming from the computer is going to be "one computer late" and have an echo. You...

Re: Failing ACX check because Noise floor is TOO low. Need help!
ACX has a failure called "overprocessing." ACX doesn't like it when when there are distracting effects or sounds in the performance. Most home noise gates or other sound processing are audible when they work. The steps in Audiobook Mastering were chosen in good part because you can't hear ...

Basically he created an audio file about 1 minute long Make a safety copy of that file on a thumb drive or some other storage. This is a terrific habit to get into. If your edit goes into the mud, you should still have that valuable file saved somewhere. This is an Audacity Project. https://www.koz...

Re: Making a multi-track project play in mono.
Make sure you have safety copies of all your work (if your computer caught fire right now).
Select the stereo track with the button on the left.
Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono. That should give you two mono tracks.
Audacity will mix everything to one track when you Export.

Re: I think I want to change the inflection on a closing to a presentation
Did you do the recording? If so. Set the call up again, call anybody and re-record the last sentence or so. Play the original in your ear a couple of times to get the rhythm down. Edit your brains out. Effect > Change Pitch is one of the effects with high distortion. It tries to rip the pitch layers...
