Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
A common cause of disturbances, ticks or pops, is a computer that can't keep up with the constant stream of data that happens when you record audio (or video). I don't know how to troubleshoot that exactly other than removed tasks from the computer. Turn off the internet or wifi, close Skype if you ...

Re: How to recover data after renaming file?
This is what I expect you to have or be able to find. Attached (click the graphic). I believe the AUP is the last to be written, so if you have two of those, then you very probably have the _DATA folder around somewhere.

Re: How to recover data after renaming file?
And I'm not entirely sure how you're opening each show. When you File > Save As: and put a new name in different from the original name, you should then have two AUP files and two _DATA folders, one for each show. If you double click on one AUP, you should get that show automatically. Can you find e...

That's OK. We're good. Last time we had advanced magic sound problems it turned out the poster had one or more bad sound systems and just wasn't listening to the same things we were. http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhase4.wav That's a 40 second sound clip that tests your stereo sound system. Segment...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
all the links you have supplied and doing what you have suggested. The ACX links in the past couple of posts are production hints and techniques like how to maintain good loudness consistency, not troubleshooting the ticks. That's an important side road problem. "Now that we have the sound and...

Does it run at the right speed? Does it get to the end too soon? How are you getting the files?

Re: Streaming Audio, USB Speakers/Microphone
But then when you collapsed the recording session, the headphones stopped working, right? You stopped just short of the finish line. Many of the loopback services work by manipulating the soundcard and USB devices don't use the soundcard. I wonder if maybe WASAPI should have worked. https://msdn.mic...

If you do have two sets of blue waves, you can use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to the left to hear one without the other. It would be really good if that's what you have. That can be easily rescued.

Re: Commercial Radio in Background Effect
Borrow ambience from the segment you're trying to match. ACX AudioBook makes specific provision for that in their editing instructions. Record some Room Tone (natural noise) and use that for editing instead of jamming dead silence into a segment. I recently went to some effort to record my natural v...
