If you mean the one on the front of your guitar amp, yes, and by adapter cable you mean one designed to do this, yes.

Note the 1/4" plug only has one little black band on the part that plugs in. Cables with two black bands may not work.

Re: Blue Yeti - Interference
The ACX recording class recommends a Rode NT1-A microphone and the MBox Mini-2 Mic-Pre and digitizer. If you're not depressed enough yet, you can watch their video, remembering that they're playing to the broadcast and audiobook market, not casual recording. http://www.acx.com/help/video-lessons-res...

Re: Blue Yeti - Interference
So which mics do you tend to recommend for around the same price? And there, in one interrogative sentence, is the problem. When I said we stopped recommending them, we didn't stop in favor of anything else. There is no anything else. I crank out top quality sound productions, but I do with a hybri...

Re: Project data files disappeared randomly
Here's a test project I made. You have to unzip it for use. Open it in Audacity, immediately save it and then save a "protection copy" named whatever you wish. Close Audacity. Do they both open with two seconds of pure tone? Did either of them become hopelessly damaged? This is the techniq...

Re: Can Audacity Record VoIP Conversations, or not?
I think we can go with no. A normal computer can do two sound tasks: Play audio to a listener and record audio from, say, a microphone. VoiP calls use up both of those sound tasks. Audacity has to borrow your microphone sound for recording (third task) and it has to "turn around" the VoiP ...

Re: Volume when recording.
Newer iMacs aren't designed to connect to entertainment stereo equipment. If you have a classic (old) turntable, you can use a Behringer UFO-202 which is a phono preamp with USB connection. Note it has a place for the thin, black ground wire which is there to prevent hum and buzz. http://www.sweetwa...

Audacity Chains has come a long way, but it's just not a programming language which is what you're looking for.

Can you post it again without the noise reduction or any filters? We can't do anything without knowing what the original problem was.

Re: How To Isolate The Bass From An MP3 File
The reason the vocals appear on both tracks is the singers are usually in the middle which puts equal amounts of singer on left and right. I wouldn't expect individual instrument isolation to be particularly successful which is why you couldn't find instructions for it. While the actual notes being ...
