Re: Blue Yeti only makes feedback noise when recording?
Nobody will come after you with a gun if you don't hit -6 on the sound meters. That was chosen as the sweet spot to allow you some upward loudness variation for expressive presentations ( never get so loud that the meter maxes out), and loud enough to cover up whatever noises the microphone is makin...

Re: Blue Yeti only makes feedback noise when recording?
And no, that's not "feedback." That's just noise that's not supposed to be there. Classic feedback is when the rock band at the local pub gets their sound adjustments off and it starts screaming at full volume .....eeeeeEEEEEEEEEE! It used to be that a USB microphone was automatically the ...

Re: Blue Yeti only makes feedback noise when recording?
When I did the tests, I did them with a Samson G-Track microphone.

It's a good bet it has a lot of the same setup instructions as yours.

Re: Blue Yeti only makes feedback noise when recording?
If you really love to record internet sound, no doubt you're used to using Stereo-Mix or one of those services. Stereo Mix is also known as "Everything Playing On The Computer." So when Audacity goes into record, it picks up everything active on the machine and sends the mixed signal back ...

Re: equalization
Audacity doesn't so anything in real time, so you would capture the work, Export or Save it, apply filters and corrections and then Export for CD burning. Audacity doesn't burn a thing, so you need an Audio CD Authoring Program such as iTunes or Windows Media. Crank through this. There's a lot of go...

Re: Unifying volume between songs (separate projects)
The very best of luck with that. Music production over time has gotten louder and louder, not because the volume got turned up in the delivered product, but the sound got more dense and forceful through aggressive sound processing. This is the "loudness wars" thing. To cut to the chase, yo...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
I long for the days of test4_1_2015.wav Remember that one? "This is a test of Tom's mic.." That's the clip that made ACX compliance with just the slightest tiny volume adjustment. The clip with the ticks in it? Windows8_Samson_Softpre_test4_12_2015.wav won't pass easily. It's too noisy. I ...

Re: Monitoring turns off every time I play a track
It sounds like you were listening to Stereo Mix instead of Audacity Playback. Stereo Mix is selected in Windows control panels and is a feed of Everything Playing on the Computer. If you like to record YouTube sound or other internet services, Stereo Mix is the service you mess with to get that. Koz

Re: Advanced Audio Coding File
You'll have to get better at downloading and installing software. Lame for creating new MP3 files and FFMpeg for both opening and creating files with newer compression formats. http://audacityteam.org/download/mac Scroll down and follow the processes for the software. We are going to ask you exactly...
