Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio

If you post long enough, the forum will let you in without moderation. In English that means don't try to sell us weight loss products. Better. You don't need us to see if everything is OK. You can do it with basic Audacity. This is what a normal, desirable recording in Audacity looks like. The soun...

Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio

A moderately unpopular attitude is that the software is there to serve you, not the other way around. If Audacity 2.0.6 works.....

Re: input level

It's not important to "hit" -6dB with your voice. It's important that your voice average peaks are around -6. In the latest Audacity, there is a color change to yellow in the sound meter when your voice is approximately correct. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RecordingMetersMinus_6...

Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio

Post about ten seconds of raw mono voice sound — no effects or corrections. Hold your breath and don't move for the first two seconds.

even with only 50 dB gain on the Soundcraft, So you found the spec sheet? The microphone specifications demand at least 60dB channel gain. But yes, if you can't yell your way to flashing lights, there's something wrong. That microphone has little switches on the bottom. I would exercise those, chan...

The pack i got only has limited phrases Get a new pack? You join a long list of people wanting to "Make my voice sound like something else." Almost nobody succeeds. You might try Effect > Vocoder. It combines two different sounds into one through modulation similar to that talking guitar ...

Re: Removing buzz from my audiobook

Whatever is causing it has to be powerful enough to radiate. Remember the problem goes away when the microphone is moved away from the computer. With Occam's razor in mind: Poor shielding on a plastic microphone and radiation from a leaky computer seems to fill the bill pretty well. Did you try the ...
