Re: Audacity heading towards spamnation??
Isn't there also that Google thing where you drop out of sight if your pages don't easily format for a portable device? There's even a google page test. Mine fail, not because I didn't take the trouble, but because apparently there are special display device tags required. I have some of that info h...

Re: Podcasting with different types of Mics
The Yeti is a very popular microphone. Chances are you will be able to resell it and get most of your investment back.

Re: Podcasting with different types of Mics
You can probably force that to work with a Windows software package such as VoiceMeeter VoiceMeeter http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/ I believe you can get separate track with that, read the instructions carefully. But. The USB microphone has the problems of a USB microphone. You can...

Re: Removing buzz from my audiobook
I don't need my audio file to get past ACX filters, I just would like it to sound relatively good. I know that sounds strange but I'm not going to make a career of recording my books as audio books, but I have a little venture in mind that I'm working on, and for that I need to be able to prove tha...

Re: Remove background music
There is a trick you can do with Vocal Removal. If the show is in stereo (required), you can use Effect > Vocal Removal to take out all the sounds that are exactly the same between the left and the right audio. In a song, that's usually the lead vocal. If you luck out, the background sound is mono a...

Re: Remove background music
There is no easy tool for that. You are trying to split the different parts of a sound performance that to you seem independent. #4. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don't record the show in your mum's kitchen.) ...

Re: Voice over tinny sound needs fixed
"Use a shotgun", That was me from further up. NPR gets around a lot of location problems with hand-held shotguns. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ShotGunInterview.jpg I've seen voices-over done that way, too, probably because that was the microphone available. It's frequently the diffe...

Re: Using audacity with Lenovo U535
Ignore it and use a stereo USB Behringer UCA202 for line-level work (like my mixer), or one of the USB Microphone amplifiers.

Re: Removing buzz from my audiobook
I'm in Audacity 2.1.0 for these. That version has better tools. is it fairly straightforward to apply? No. We will be doing a lot of work and the final will sound more like AM radio than a high quality podcast. I know all microphones use the word "Studio" and "Professional" somew...

Re: Hissing(white noise) problem with USB microphone
There is a version of this microphone without the USB. That one can be used with a well-behaved sound mixer to produce a very quiet, clear recording. Also, as I posted, if you use a sound program that accepts ASIO, that may help as well.
