Re: How to change dependency file's path.. please help!
Though.. not sure why you hoped that was a typo. There are unauthorized versions of Audacity and you can have serious problems if you're using one of them instead of the real thing. So we could have started the repair by ripping out your Audacity program and putting a different one in. Typo is bett...

Re: How do I control recording volume?
Starting with the pink panel above, we need the version information, then reformat the question to tell us what you're doing and with what.

Re: low resonance in live recording
Josh Turner recorded the entire first couple of years of sound work on a pre-n H2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcVec_RPwuc This is the model that's still going for new prices, even though it hasn't been made for a while. I've been following him for a long time. He took the unprecedented step of ...

Re: How to change dependency file's path.. please help!
This .aud uses only one .wav as it's dependency. I'm hoping that's a typo. Audacity uses an AUP file as its project manager. I have no good experience with 2.1.0, but in earlier versions, you could open the AUP file in a text editor and read it. It's in XML semi-English programming language. http:/...

Re: low resonance in live recording
There's an old trick of crumpling a newspaper in front of the microphone. That's not a totally dreadful "white noise" generator. You can also listen to the mixer while you whistle or hum or woooooof. You get to one pitch tone and it's suddenly painful. On a live recording Meaning you only ...

Re: Free space for editing
We hope you're reading the 2.1.0 notes. Version 2.1 and 2.10 are bogus. In the 2.1 release notes, I see
As far as I know, yes. A recent poster got in trouble by making far fewer edits, but on a large show. "Wait, where did my xxxGB go?"If I make 100 edits, it's 3GB?

Re: Meeting Acx requirements
We should get Audacity 2.1.0 running. The tools, instruments and filters are superior to old versions. ACX's reference for clear, natural sound is an unprocessed, level-corrected submission. Yes, it is possible to make that and by using non-magic, normal equipment. But possibly not most USB micropho...

Re: Battling Mosquitoes (equipment review)
They claim they do, but when I tried to use it, they shunted me off to an Asian location, whose shipping is, oddly enough, cheaper. And yes they did say in the dialog that the restricted list of equipment this will help with is an ongoing problem. No, you probably can't run your USB3 popcorn popper....

Re: I need help with my latest Audacity project
Restart the machine. You may be trying to use a partially damaged Audacity. It will be interesting to see if Audacity restarts after the machine comes back up.
Oh, we need the Windows version.

Re: Error could not save project....file isnot writable disk
That's not the only thing which can cause that. Are you using network connected drives? Did you use comments in the metadata and did you put punctuation marks there? Are you running Audacity over a network?
Will the project save to your desktop, just as a test?
