Re: Length of the music track
Looping is about the only way. Near the end of the music, fade for a split second and then start another copy. Fade when it's been running long enough. Re: Meeting Acx requirements
I'm reading the Lexicon user manual. You should have the first knob line1/Inst all the way down and the second knob, Line 2/Mic all the way up. It should be possible to lean forward into the microphone, yell loudly and get the red peak light to come on as a test. Or get somebody else to yell. Or cla...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
Without the Lifter? If it's a straight connection, then yes, the SM7 may be broken.Aaron's Shure SM58 mic and connected it to the Folio Notepad.
The output rating on the SM58 is about -54dB and the SM7 is -59dB. Slightly low, not over 20dB difference.

Re: file transfer
CDA isn't audio. You have to rip an Audio CD into audio files using a ripper program such as iTunes or CDex.

Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio
Just before I get into Lori (my lorry) and drive off, the corrections I used only work in Audacity 2.1.0.

Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio
I noticed the Room Tone (background noise) at the beginning and at the end are different. They both pass, but they're different and ACX warns that having the work character wander through the book is a big problem.

Re: Ambient noise in track after compression and equalizatio
Attached is the patched version which, depending on how you measure, conforms to ACX guidelines and sounds reasonable.
This was not a simple correction. I can give you the spells, but not right now. Do you already have Steve's rolloff filter? Attached. I used it in the correction.
