Re: Audacity 2.4.2 wont convert aup to wav to Windows Media Player
I think rather than blindly mess with this, it would be good to reveal filename extensions to see what Windows thinks you did. https://fileinfo.com/help/windows_10_show_file_extensions What you think you did and what Windows thinks is different. It's possible you have an AUP file and a WAV file with...

Re: Select audio between two labels
In case we're making this more complicated than it needs to be. Labels are sticky/magnetic. Click in the audio over one label and drag to the next one. They turn colors when you get the aiming right. It selects everything you dragged.

And wearing my obsessive cap for a minute, you are going to run into a lot of the same problems that the audiobook people do. It's good to have all your readings about the same loudness. We publish an audiobook mastering suite of tools to force everything to come out the same. You're lucky you don't...

Re: Basic opening of project files
Next time you do this, File > Export the work as WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit. NOT MP3. You saved Audacity Projects. This is an Audacity Project. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg They both have to be in the same location or folder, they have to be named the same, and it ...

Re: How to get vertical line to stay after pausing, like garageband?
You might be able to do something with labels. Audacity doesn't have markers or indexes, but it does let you set labels and manage them. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html Fair warning, I believe labels come out of the box as an independent track. If you want labels married to a t...

Re: Using Audacity Effects Live on Skype and Zoom Live
Audacity doesn't apply recording corrections, filters, or effcts in real time. Audacity doesn't get along well with Skype or Zoom. Audacity doesn't "know" about other sound applications and Zoom knows, but doesn't tolerate anybody else. It's not a good marriage. That's why the best way to ...

Re: More sample rates to convert to with the Project Rate dropdown
an ability to add custom sample rates I don't think it works like that. Sample rates have identities. They're not just arbitrary numbers. 44100 is the rate for Audio CD. 48000 is the rate used in digital video. 96000 is the rate used in Audio Studios. There may be custom rates, but they tend to be ...

One more. MP3 files come with their own built-in timing errors. Stick with WAV or other uncompressed filetypes for audio production. Never do production in MP3.
