There is one item way back at the beginning of the thread that I missed. You said you uninstalled Audacity 2.10. Audacity doesn't make a version 2.10. That's a bogus program from somebody else. Musical noise is right outside of my world. I believe you. However, spoken word fails repeatedly at 0 and 6 seems to be the sweet spot. Since the forum collects multiple ACX AudioBook failures, I think 0 default in that case is not desirable.
