Re: Balancing a sound board with skype calls
The overly simplistic solution is put the stingers, bumpers, music beds and themes into the show in post production since you're doing post anyway to put the two talents together. The much more complex solution is use two computers (widen your screen view to get them both in). http://kozco.com/tech/...

Re: Help with Behringer UCA222
Glad to help, but Audacity latency correction doesn't do anything for you during live recording. That makes your new and old performances line up in playback later. Or is that what you meant?

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
It's probably OS dependent, on my Windows machine the UCA-202 comes up at "BEHRINGER WDM USB AUDIO". Isn't that text buried in the device? You have a newer one than I do. Anyway, we're far away from making this work. We've been here before and you complained about odd sound pathways and e...

No, because even if we made you sound like Yogi Bear (and we can't), you'd get killed the first time somebody analyzed your word use and acting.
Three sentences in, your mum would say: "Oh, hi Loc. I didn't recognize your voice. How's the new car holding up?"

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
So I would guess that there may be something wrong with the folio. We can test that. That's 5dB. I believe that's normal. So I suspect the SM7 is doing its job and it's usable, particularly with the Lifter in the line. So connect the UCA-202 and the computer. Select (I think) USB Audio CODEC in the...

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording. Overdub should be the only thing selected. Playthrough can give you echoes.

It's down at the bottom (attached). The effects on Macs are in two segments.

Re: Help with Behringer UCA222
My UCA202 didn't come with any software. It just worked out of the box. Which software did you install?
Go into the Win7 control panels and find your device. It might say something like "USB Audio Codec." My Win7 has little sound meters and I can see my sounds there. Can you?

What are you recording and how? Which computer and operating system and which Audacity? Pretend I'm trying to duplicate what you're doing but here.

Re: How do I control recording volume?
Nope. Not quite the same thing. Mine is a C-Media USB Headphone Set. But. It does have a working volume control in Audacity 2.1.0. Attached. The Audacity volume control slider does what it says and Apple (upper left desktop) > System Preferences > Sound > Input also shows the C-Media device. The Sys...
