Re: Audio Tape Phase Alignment
You can probably make the tool using existing parts. Azimuth does two things: it muffles the sound because any one sound track doesn't "fit" under the head any more which distorts high frequencies worse than low, and it throws off the timing between left and right racks. Equalization could...

Re: Balancing a sound board with skype calls
And lest you think I'm completely nuts, this is how the Pando Podcast is done (attach). I could do that podcast since my mixer will handle two microphones and interviews at once, but I wouldn't want to. Their mixer is much more convenient than mine. We're pretty sure she's playing Angry Birds. Koz

Re: Help with Behringer UCA222
Yes - that was indeed what I meant. When I was performing the overdub it sounded in sync with the backing track, but when I played it back my overdubbed track was a fraction "behind" the backing track, and my adjustment to the latency correction stopped this happening. That is precisely w...

and they have the same sample rate. And channels? Audacity may drop dead if it tries to connect to a mono device with a stereo setting. Also headsets can be a little magic as compared with a straight microphone(s). Do they each work individually? That is, my system will allow me to select either mi...

Re: Recording Desktop Audio With USB Headset Error
It's always shaky when you involve WASAPI, Stereo-Mix or other Loopback application. You tend to lose control of the sound pathways or even understand where they are most of the time. That can leave you with: "How come I get an echo" complaints. Sometimes you can't get a headset to work. I...

Re: Professional Echo Settings In Audacity
I don't think there are settings which will do that. "Effect > Echo" is designed to provide a single slap echo like yelling from a canyon, not theatrical production "deep room" echoes.

Re: Recording a telephone conversation
Personal Recorders do not record both sides of the conversation. I use a stand-alone recorder and a special microphone I plug into my ear. It works with any telephone or cellphone. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7.jpg http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7Blowup.jpg http://kozc...

Re: Problem with right channel when recording.
This seems to be happening with the line in input. Thank you for the illustrations. That's an insane amount of DC Offset. That blue horizontal line in the bottom track is supposed to be at 0.0 like the one on top. What's the possibility you don't really have a Line-In? Many Laptops have a Mic-In or...

Re: how to make low frequencies MORE audible
What's the job? Sometimes we can get an idea of the solution by knowing what the eventual goal or product is. For example, you probably didn't getup this morning thinking, "I think I'll jump on the floor today."
