Re: Removing overdriven microphone noise
You overloaded the camera's microphone. That's where the crunchy sound is coming from. The camera's Auto Gain Control tried to "fix it" after it was already destroyed and that's where the low level is coming from. The recording is permanently trashed. The grownups use special external micr...

Re: Will not record from Yamaha mixer
Where do the Audacity sound meters flicker? They are supposed to go all the way up to the yellow zone on a good volume recording. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RecordingMetersMinus_6.jpg If the flickering never gets above about -30, that's not loud enough and it will not appear on the blue ...

Re: Will not record from Yamaha mixer
Did you notice in Windows Control Panels whether the little sound meter bounced when you talked into the microphone? Does the Yamaha sound meter just below the logo bounce when you speak and can you plug headphones into the mixer and hear yourself? It's possible to get an almost straight blue wave i...

Re: behringer guitar link
If the USB light is on, the unit should be working. Did you try playing to the unit? Set the unit as a playback device. Audacity is included with everything because it's free and it runs on any computer. It's usually out of date and we advise getting the latest one (2.1.0) from here. http://web.auda...

Re: Tracks not aligning once exported
If you perform musical alignment with the Time Shift Tool and pushing tracks around, the gap between time zero and the first note on any track will not export. One way out is to jam Generate > Silence in the hole. But you have to do it to every track you moved. I think you can get around this by gen...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
I've never met a quiet Windows tower. In one of the ACX videos, the presenter describes putting a noisy computer outside the recording environment and run wires.
