Re: High pitched background noise.
Finally a diagnosis! Yes, that flummoxed us for a long time. The noise changes with everything. Put a hub in, take hub out, lengthen the USB cable, shorten the cable, decrease the humidity, try it on Thursday .... etc. One thing all those changes never did was reduce the noise to zero. That happene...

The damage overtones and harmonics will be up where only dogs can hear. We recommend live recording p...

Re: How to remove clicking/popping
The first generation Air machines were underpowered with the idea of being wispy thin and totally portable. Recording live voice (or video) is not a wispy thin job. If the machine isn't up to the job, you may get clicks and pops in the sound as the system struggles to keep up, worse if you have othe...

Re: "show clipping" - confused over results
Does it still do that in Audacity 2.1.0? It might not. http://web.audacityteam.org/download/ Going into and out of MP3 can cause real clipping. MP3 changes the electrical characteristics of the sound and sometimes, if the wind isn't at your back, the sound gets louder. So nobody's shocked about that...

Re: Getting rid of some echo on my audio
Since we can't fix echo, let's assume it's not. Post a sample of the work on the forum.

This better? It's before and after. I can publish the Equalization curve.
