Re: Two sources

If that's completely off the rails, then you need to correct me by throwing lots of fine details and part numbers. Which Boundary mic, etc?

Re: Two sources

Not quite enough pieces. I assume streaming, not broadcasting, so that takes up the sound channels in the laptop. If the mixer has an Effects Send, you can use that to send Crowd Noise Clean or Announce Clean into a separate laptop or recorder. If it really is broadcast, then you'll have a terminal ...

Re: Finding the right equalization for my voice

It is cleaner. I'm going with my first comment. I would have no trouble listening to a story in that original voice. The reference you posted as an example has a more forward, sharper sound than you. I guess it helps that he's screaming into the microphone a lot of the time, but that's him. It's pos...

Re: What sound card do I need to record vinyl to laptop plea

Probably not. We've had good luck with the Behringer UCA202 stereo to USB interface. This is it connected between my sound mixer and laptop. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg They make a different device called the UFO-202. That one's designed to go between the physic...

Re: Recording went from normal to shuddering, skipping, over

Is there any way to salvage the 2 hours of recording that are affected?!
That would be no. Once the system does that, it starts making trash.

I think there's a fix for that in one of the future builds for Mac. I'm very fuzzy on the process. We need to wait for a senior elf.

Re: Increase noise Help

That's a frequently asked question, usually by people trying to record the far side of a cellphone or the remote point in a Skype call. Can I assume the two people are not split Left and Right in a stereo show? Unfortunately, we don't have a frequent solution. Software doesn't know what words are. A...

Re: What bit rate do I use when exporting audio from a video

If you want to manage videos that you personally shot , then the sampling rate is probably 48000 and not 44100. If you're getting the work from download, it's already been crushed and compressed and it doesn't make any difference what you do, except you shouldn't recompress it. Double compression is...

Re: High pitched background noise.

I do it with the mixer (powered from the wall) analog microphones and the interface inside my Mac. Generally, we like the UCA202 if you need an interface. It's quiet, bidirectional and it's certified for overdubbing because of its on-board headphone monitoring. That's the system doing a broadcast ra...

Re: "show clipping" - confused over results

Since you can't actually see over 0, a sound value of 0 may or may not be damage. But three successive values at 0 might be damage. The wave would have gone higher had it been allowed to. You descend into fancy English again. Music is unlikely to have three or more successive values at 0. The behavi...

Re: creating 1 channel WAV

If you have several separate timelines, make sure the one you want says "Mono." Select it by clicking just above MUTE and File > Export Selected.
