I know this came up in the dim, dark past, but picture two slightly different tracks one above the other. I want to compare them by rapidly switching—one button—and not double SOLO-ing for example. I think it turned out there was an off-menu way to do that.

Re: getting home audiobook recording up to snuff
I created a new Equalization curve "CrispPatch2" attached. This one is a little more involved. I found two tone pitches in your voice that are difficult to hear and designed a filter to suppress them. I didn't change anything else, so it should avoid the "heavy blanket" effect. S...

No, but it's such a vivid, theatrical picture I'm going to continue using it.Just so we're clear, I'm no longer underneath the duvet
It's very Hollywood. It doesn't have to work, it has to look like it's working.

Re: getting home audiobook recording up to snuff
I have no touchy-feely for either of the de-essing tools, and the crisp reduction was chosen to just gently take the edge from your voice. The change is not going to knock people over. I couldn't get the Mac de-esser version to do anything predictably , the magic word in useful tools. That's where I...

I can't find the FFMpeg for linux, so you're on your own, or you may not need it. I can't tell.

Re: How to convert a set of files with audacity?
Audacity has a tool called "Chains" which is just the Batch tools everywhere else. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/chains_for_batch_processing_and_effects_automation.html However, don't fall in love with the idea of doing them all at once. The first thing Audacity does is decompress t...

Re: Help! Blue Yeti high pitch noise
No joy in mudville. I connected one of my Startech USB HeadSet adapters (mono microphone and stereo headphone) and got the whine sound in the recording. I put the USB isolator in the system and got almost no improvement. There is a sound change, but it's only 2.0dB by actual measurement. You can't h...

Re: What sound card do I need to record vinyl to laptop plea
Oh, there is one magic setting. If your Marantz has a switch for Moving Magnet or Moving Coil pickups, you could be overloading the Marantz with the wrong setting. I think it's moving coil that's really cool, but has lower volume. If you are set for special moving coil and have a moving magnet type ...

Re: What sound card do I need to record vinyl to laptop plea
That is so not supposed to be happening. You have a normal analog turntable connected to a Marantz entertainment system. Which one? Model numbers? You took the Tape-Out or Line-Out of the Marantz (details) and plugged it into the Line-In of the Behringer. OK so far? Did you plug any other cables to ...

Re: Finding the right equalization for my voice
The upper two Pamela licenses will give you two separate, high quality WAV files featuring you on one track and the far side on the other. Perfect for individual filtering and adjusting as needed before melting them into one show. It answers the question: "The far side voice sucks. How do I spl...
