Re: My audio sample
The C01u is not an omni-directional microphone. It's non-adjustable cardioid (heart-shaped, or kidney-shaped in Britain). It receives best by talking into the logo, it has some reception from the sides and almost nothing from the back. Attached is a similar microphone that you work by talking into t...

Re: NEED HELP! Guitar Recording with Peavey X-Port Interface
from the 'Head Phone' slot on my Peavey X-Port and plug it directly into the 'Mic' input on my laptop, would that work? Probably not well. When it's used normally, Mic-In is super sensitive to deal with low volume microphones...and it's mono, not stereo. It's designed to do this. http://kozco.com/t...

Re: Menu flashing, will not save modified project
Which Mac version and which Audacity version?
Have you restarted the machine?
Which other audio Editor? Do you leave it active in the dock, or shut it down completely?

Re: Opening a "saves as" project via the AUP file is blank
Chapter one of bad news. Audacity 1.2.5 is not supported under Yosemite. You have to be in Audacity 2.1.0 to get support. I'm going to take one giant step backward and let the senior elves handle this. If Audacity is old enough, some of the really old recovery techniques may work. After you resolve ...

Re: Opening a "saves as" project via the AUP file is blank
I'm not sure where to go with this. Audacity 1.2.5 is older than dirt (second line, toward the right). I don't think the recovery tools work in a project that old. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recovery.html It's good you made a copy of the work. We can beat up one without affecting the other...

Re: Two different USB input devices
I think you can get Voicemeeter to do that.

Please note that there is no guarantee of sync between the two tracks. Each one has their own internal digital clock and they really are doing their own digital thing.

Re: Opening a "saves as" project via the AUP file is blank
Which Mac version, which Audacity version? Has this worked many times before?
Did you put a date in the filename? Was it ISO format? 2015-05-28.
Open up your AUP file in Text Edit. It's a text file and you can read it. Don't save it.
Go > Applications > TextEdit.
Is it blank?

Re: My audio sample
Just using a homemade sound box with those pyramid squares, and a Samson mic. That can work. I do it with furniture moving pads. http://www.kozco.com/pictures/boothFinished/laptop-mic.jpg That was a multi-actor shoot, so you won't need all that. Please give us details of your computer, audacity ver...

Re: My audio sample
I was going to publish the list of tools and filters to fix it, but I can't do it without serious surgery. You'll need to quiet down your room. This can be difficult because most people "tune out" normal day-to-day noises. For instance, each time I record I get my wall clock in the show. I...
