Re: Limiter
Yes, except that you decide how much to amplify. Nyquist cannot automatically set the required amount for 0 dB. I'm just reading that again. The useful feature of Amplify is you don't have to adjust it in this instance and it resets every time, so there's no chance of accidental odd results. Which ...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
And as a complete side note, this is a cousin to the problem people have when they want to plug an analog gaming headset into a sound mixer. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg That can be done , but you'll never see it as a commercial product because it doubles or triples the price...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
There is one other possibility, but it, too, involves soldering irons and hand tools. It's on my to-do list. There are ways to filter the USB power supply using old school techniques. That's only complicated with me not having a Yeti or experiencing the problem myself. I get the problem with a tiny ...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
Maybe I will publish this. At the risk of being even more snarky than usual (I'm taking meds for that. Really), I can publish a neat list of all these changes with an open box next to each one. "Please put checks next to the solutions you want us to try. It will save a lot of time. It won't wor...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
I was thinking that same thing. No. Not really. We just have collections of anecdotes and comments and complaints. Startlingly, we know exactly how to get rid of it. Rip your microphone to pieces and change the wiring so the 5 volts comes from your own well-behaved, external, lab power supply instea...

Re: How to edit out 'distortion' in an MP3
Three seconds? Three minutes? Can you drag-select a ten second segment with the distortion starting in the middle? File > Export Selection and post it? Use WAV (Microsoft) for the export quality. From a forum message window, scroll down, Upload Attachment > Add the file. Also forward your computer i...

Re: Limiter
So Input Gain takes the place of Effect > Amplify: Default I used in front of the last limiter? Put the audio somewhere predictable and then limit it. The last limiter (by my count, version 4) was desirable. What are the equivalent settings to -3, 10, No?

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
It's discouraging that Blue Support seems to be going down that same list.
