The Mic-In (pink) of your laptop is generally for a mono microphone connection.
Oh! I forgot I wrote this.

Re: Is there a way to remove clap sound
We need the clap along with other parts of the show. Just a blast of trash isn't useful. Drag-select about ten seconds with the clap in the middle.

Re: My audio sample
Enclosed, please find LF_rolloff_for_speech.xml.zip. Unzip it and that should leave you with LF_rolloff_for_speech.xml. That's a custom effect designed by Steve to work with Effect > Equalization. Remember where you put it. Where did you get stuck with this? Did you have any trouble "unzipping...

Re: Limiter
Do the controls lock together if they "know" you have a mono show or selection? Gray out?

Re: Getting rid of echo not caused by Audacity
The short answer is no. Number 1. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don't record the show in your mum's kitchen.) -- 2. Overload and Clipping (Sound that's recorded too loud is permanently trashed.) -- 3. Compress...

Is that supposed to be a track going backwards?

Re: My audio sample
OK. The top half of that instruction list is to make a special sound filter available in the second half. It's a special custom voice filter that's not included with normal Audacity. That's why you couldn't find LF_rolloff. Unless you installed it, it's just not there. I need to push details off unt...

Re: Audacity Records sounded like Minus one
That's almost the poster child for getting the left and right stereo channels out of phase. If you're forced to play from one speaker or cellphone, the lead singer will vanish (and sometimes the drums, too). Open one of the broken songs in Audacity. Click just above MUTE to select the whole song. Tr...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
Another side trip. This was a thing I shot last month. All the posted clips are absolutely real (but the post production isn't). These were all shot with my H4, hand-held with the built-in microphones.
The ISO posted date is intentionally a little hard to read, but it's very significant.

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
Reading all those amazon reviews I just thought, hey, this mic is going to be a simple and awesome solution for me. Never that easy I suppose. Like, I think, flynwill said, most people buy one of these things and they're off and running. I remember reading somewhere a performer/interviewer was tick...
