Re: no sound when recording
Disconnect the turntable. Launch Audacity and see where it wants to put the sound in the playback Device Toolbar. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Connect the turntable, wait a bit and Transport > Rescan. Switch the Audacity device toolbar so it records from the turntable, bu...

Re: Online music collaboration
That's a pretty common way to share resources. I think that's how Josh Turner does it on his multi-state collaborations.email the link to that recording to me.

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Not Responding In Yosemite
This is a copy from another posting. open Audacity > Preferences... then choose the "Recording" tab. Set Audio to buffer to 10 milliseconds. Record a second track. If the audio is recorded with breakup or doesn't start recording, choose 20 milliseconds, then 30 and so on, until the audio r...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Not Responding In Yosemite
No. You're right. The ZIP comes down with a different structure than the DMG. I need to find why the system would do that. There's something magic that happens on some systems..... Have you ever done a Repair Permissions? Go > Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your system drive and Verify followed by...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Not Responding In Yosemite
I think that's wrong. When you unpacked the ZIP, you were supposed to get a disk image (.dmg). When you double click on that, you get the installer. I think you missed a step in the middle.
I need to go look.

Re: 2 tracks playing at one time
You can listen to either track with the MUTE and SOLO buttons to the left. You can select one song by clicking just above MUTE and File > Export Selected. It should be possible to File > Save Project with both songs just as they are. What you can't do is Export with two songs, unless you use a custo...

Re: no sound when recording
How are you doing that, in detail? Sometimes Windows will misdirect the USB service to send sound to the wrong place.

We don't make a 2.1 or a 2.10. It should be specifically Audacity 2.1.0.audacity 2.1.

Re: My audio sample
"Rolloff" and many of its cousins like "notch," "clipping," shelving filter," "brick wall" and "tilt" are all visual words describing something aural. Clipping is the easy one. That's when the real life sound becomes so loud that the recording s...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Not Responding In Yosemite
You can get all sorts of insane behavior if you are trying to run Audacity from inside the DMG instead of actually installing it. You can also have Audacity that's not "real." Did your install actually say 2.1.0 or 2.10? We don't make a 2.10. http://web.audacityteam.org/download/ If you re...
