Re: Noise in classroom recording

if your voice can dominate the sounds hitting the microphone you should be able to get acceptable results. What he said. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/lavalier2.jpg Nobody yet has gotten good recordings from across the room or even on a chair somewhere on the stage. People still do this for a ...

Re: Timer Recording

Is the computer clock correct?

I have gotten bad recordings by typing wrong numbers in the timer settings and then not catching it. I haven't done this in a while, but the old timer used to roll numbers to higher settings and it wasn't completely obvious it was going to do that.

Re: Timer Recording

I probably would not be using Audacity 2.0.6. The latest versions is 2.1.0 from here:

It will ask you in the update if you want to remove the preference settings. Say yes.

Re: Playback

Describe your computer and how you're listening. Do you have headphones plugged into the green soundcard socket? What are you recording? USB microphone?

Which Windows and which Audacity?

Re: De-Clicker Settings Problems

Audacity 2.1
Just to be obsessive, we don't make an Audacity 2.1 or 2.10. Those are bogus versions. The current version is Audacity 2.1.0.

Re: How to edit out 'distortion' in an MP3

Thank you, Gale. My WindowsXP SP3 is up to date. Just to be clear, it can't be up to date. Microsoft stopped providing updates and they warned that they were going to do that. It is dangerous to put a Windows XP machine on the internet. You will be vulnerable to all the attacks that were designed a...

Re: MP3 recording as Default

No. Not really. Audacity is not a WAV or MP3 editor. It works in its own super high quality internal sound format and then makes whatever you want at whatever quality is needed on export. Once you make a lower quality MP3, that's the best quality you will ever have and if you try to do production in...

Which Audacity are you using? We need the accurate number, not an abbreviation.
