After enough of these post-production patches and rescues, actually shooting a quiet performance gets more and more attractive.
One of the ways you can fail ACX AudioBook acceptance, as an example, is a note they thought your submission was "overprocessed."

Re: Swap a selection of audio between tracks
I sense somebody trying to rescue their noisy performance. There is a home-built tool called Noise Gate. It forces silence into a natural segment it thinks is below a certain volume. It seems to be a gift from the angels, but after you use it, you may find it does what it says on the tin, but that's...

Re: Will this pass ACX scrutiny?
See? I told you if you were going to mess this up it would be your own fault.First, keep in mind that we require half a second of clean room tone at the top of each file, and 1 to 5 seconds of clean room tone at the tail of each file.

Re: batch file processing
I just ran the chain on an entire directory and it sounds like the phase/flange effect that we used in radio promos in the 70s. I've attached a screenshot of my setup. That's either too vigorous Noise Reduction and/or bad MP3 Export. Both have talking into a wine glass honking. That's also a sympto...

Re: Start recording when in a different window.
I think that's a no. Audacity needs screen focus for its controls to work unless you're using the timer, and it's possible even then..... I'm surprised it works at all with another entertainment production program running. That usually causes all kinds of troubles. I did a bit of video editing and I...

Re: Export Multiple Help please
The instructions seem to suggest you can do that.

Did you try Control-Clicking just above MUTE so all the tracks are selected and then File > Export Multiple?

Re: Importing playlist from win media player
How do I find the songs in the media playlist so that I can import the songs to build my show? I don't think you do. Neither iTunes or Windows Media is an open format. They're Media Managers including copy protection. You can export and copy songs out of both of them under some conditions, but I do...
