Re: Get Noise Profile does not work
Your posts are moderated until we're sure you're not going to try and sell us Male Enhancing Products if you get my drift. Clicks and pops aren't "noise." Those are one-time events. It's not likely, but it's possible to have one pop in the whole record, so it fails the idea of continuous n...

Re: Cannot save data recorded, how can I fix it
I note you didn't assure us beyond doubt that your disk is not full. It can be close to full and have problems, too, so anybody doing production in audio or video is urged strongly to keep a significant portion of the drive free and defragmented. It's also significant that you said The Magic Words: ...

Re: Get Noise Profile does not work
You didn't say what the show was. If you're recording your speaking voice, then the Noise Reduction of the Beast might be helpful. Reduction values of 6, 6, 6. If that's not quite enough, then 12, 6, 6. If it's music then you're on your own. I don't know any known, good, working settings for music. ...

Re: Get Noise Profile does not work
There are no dancing girls or parades when Noise Reduction learns a profile. It just does. The blue waves may not change when you do a successful reduction. If the correction is in sounds lower volume than about -35dB, that won't show up on the timeline. It can be said that if you see a significant ...

Re: Audacity files on Skydrive?
It's probably bad to try to run them from "up there." Always copy the work back down to a local drive for use. Audacity Project files are a little brittle and if anything happens to system file management, your show may not open when you get it back. That's why a FLAC or WAV is desirable. ...

Re: No "USB Audio CODEC" for Input Choice = STUCK!
That's backwards. Audacity checks for new devices when it starts, so connect and settle down first and then start Audacity. You can also use Transport > Rescan... Plug the device in and Apple (Desktop upper left) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. Do you see your device there or something that co...

Re: Vacancy for editor on Audio Book Production team
transom.org has a lot of good documents on audio production. They do equipment shootouts, recommendations and illustrations.
"How to use music", "How to change characters," etc. Ever wonder how NPR manages to crank out week after week of clear interviews and sound shows?

Re: Vacancy for editor on Audio Book Production team
People have an audio concept gap.I've found that these people are really hard to find.
"We don't need professional audio. We just need clear sound at good volume and no distortion or noise."
That's pretty much what my professional clients want.

Re: Overdub recordings only record intermittently
You didn't mention which headphones you're using. They're required when overdubbing to keep the playback volume from interfering with the recording. You may also be running into Windows Advanced Services which is a system to help you in conferencing and communications, but can interfere with straigh...

Re: Forced to Lose all Progrees at Program Freeze
I don't have the space to do that. Then we may have found the reason your Project failed. Every time you perform an action, Audacity has to prepare UNDO which is basically saving a copy of the whole show. If you don't have enough room to save the Project twice, then you don't have enough room for p...
