On the Windows version, the installer should ask you if you want to reset all the preferences and settings. You should say yes.

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
So it's probably no longer a mystery how Ian got out to 39 forum chapters to get his system running. You're half-way there!!

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
Or, as I said in the post you're probably just reading, post the segment after measuring it and tell us what you did.
"The whole chapter passes ACX, but this short test segment measures this: yadda, yadda, yadda.
Us not knowing what you're doing causes a lot of problems.

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
That's just knowing what the tool is doing. At least once, somewhere in the hour long show, one peak made it out to 3.2. That counts. When you supply a test clip, you should analyze that one clip and quote the findings. For the sake of argument, suppose you supplied a segment of the performance that...

This is about what your Audacity would look like (attached) during editing. The illustration has the songs overlapping, but you can adjust them any way you want.

Re: How to Upgrade to 2.0.4
There is no "paid" version of Audacity and those versions are out of date and no longer supported.
You can get Audacity 2.1.0 from here.

Re: Putting Music In Order For Podcast?
I want to talk and also play music. I read that as you have all the pieces and voices and you just need to put them together. If you want to produce a "live" podcast, that's a lot more involved. I'm betting you can't do that with one computer. That's what these people are doing. http://ko...

Re: Putting Music In Order For Podcast?
There's a number of different ways to put together a show, but one way is open or import all your voice tracks and music tracks one after the other. Audacity will pile them up and try to play them at the same time. Use the MUTE and SOLO buttons to the left of each track to tell the system which trac...

Re: ffmpeg installing but still digital jibberish
Where did you get the MP4 from? If it was a $0.99 download from iTunes, it's copy protected. That's not to say you can't use it. If it plays OK in iTunes, make a playlist with it inside and burn the playlist to an Audio CD. Then rip the CD back into iTunes. That song will copy and open. That's the t...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
I tested it, using the traditional method And it's right about there that we spin out of control. Select the whole clip by clicking just above MUTE. Effect > Amplify and read the top number > Cancel. I get 4.7 for peak, not 3.2. I get 4.6 when I use flynwill's auto analysis tool. That's a rounding ...
