Use LF_rolloff early in the filter process. If you have low-pitch tones or rumble (more common than you think), it can mess up the other tools. One of the filters or tools like compressor may be trying to process the barely audible rumble instead of your voice.

Re: Help with LF_Rolloff_for_speech
LF_rolloff is a plug-in for Effect > Equalizer. When you get it installed, you should use it with the Equalizer Length slider all the way up. Koz Adding Equalizer Curves -- Select something on the timeline. -- Effect > Equalization > Save/Manage Curves > Import -- Point at LF_rolloff_for_speech.xml ...

I am not using the Video input on it You may not be using it, but it's there in the bitstream anyway. Audacity does not recognize video devices. I use the Behringer UCA202 pure audio converter. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg Dig in the Dazzle and see if there is a...

Re: Question about this software
Slowing down isn't a serious problem. Use Effect > Change tools. Change-Speed, Change-Pitch, and Change-Tempo. Transferring the files is much more of a problem. Connect the recorder and mount it as a storage device or get a card reader and walk the recorder's storage card over to the computer (sneak...

Re: Blue Yeti - Low Quality Audio after Noise Removal
but be wary of not to breathe heavily directly into the mic. Exactly correct. And to help you do that, we have the pop and blast filter. That's the tennis racket with panty hose stretched over it. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/wynonna2.jpg And that's your search term (pop filter, not panty hose). ...

Re: Vacancy for editor on Audio Book Production team
Audacity defaults to WAV (Microsoft) 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. This is the same standard as Audio CDs and it's a close cousin to basic television sound (48000, 16-bit, Stereo). It's uncompressed, so the files are sized according to time and not "quality" settings like MP3. WAV is always at ma...

We're hoping sooner or later, someone will post that they have a little inexpensive USB adapter that makes the problem go away on all microphones.I'm glad this is getting so much attention!
What? It could happen.

Re: No "USB Audio CODEC" for Input Choice = STUCK!
I have no keyboard or mouse connected. That's the "doorknob moment." A guy makes it through an entire physical and has said goodbye to the doctor and pauses with his hand on the doorknob, turns and says: "I bleed out my noise every night. That's not important, is it?" Most of us...

Re: What techniques would I use for improve this distortion.
I got nothin'. I will note that we are not rescuing the voices from a very low-bit-rate codec. The very low-bit-rate codec is the rescue . Without that, the transmission would be unintelligible trash. A friend was forced through circumstances to make a voice recording without listening to it. He wat...
