Re: Can't hear rhythm track

It's common to think that the Audacity Latency Adjustment will take care of the echo. The latency adjustment is recording latency and makes it so when you perform, your live show lands on top of the backing track perfectly.

The headphone echo is machine latency and you're stuck with that.

Re: Can't hear rhythm track

I've connected my headphones to the computer because I dont have an adapter Little to big, right? Get the adapter. This isn't just a simple button push or setting. It's the difference between Regular Overdubbing and Perfect Overdubbing. If you listen to the 2i2, it will mix your live voice with the...

Re: Trying to remove background hiss from Sony recorder

if you have anything else to offer Is Google any help here? You can't be the only birder that's ever had troubles making clear recordings. What do the others do? I know we're going into his with the idea that there is a path to success, but there may not be. You are in the same boat as the people w...

Re: Recording my voice thru a mic and guest by phone together into Audancity: Windows 10

I do it with a special microphone that goes in my ear and a personal sound recorder. It works with anything I hold up to my head. Doesn't work with Hands-Free. OlympusWS823-TP7.jpg https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/190317_TierOneSupportTP7SoundTest3.mp3 I don't think you can buy a WS823 any ...

Re: how to reconstruct audio recording with only .au files

At the risk of not following the show format, I think I would identify all the Lefts and Rights in one segment and rather than trying to straightened them out, Mix them and cut the show Mono. Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono. Then the alignments reduces down to First Sentence > Second Sentence...

Re: how to reconstruct audio recording with only .au files

This aligns the selected tracks one after the other so they follow the Timeline. How does it "know" which snippets come first? Does it do it top to bottom? I don't see how that would work with ten randomly named files with the same time and date. If you're rescuing a dialog or conversatio...

Re: sound but no waveform after new microphone and interface

but by very little. The blue waves got bigger? You never answered the question of whether or not you installed the Solo software. If you did, then there may be Solo control panel hidden on the machine somewhere. Something is not normal because when Audacity is presented with a USB sound system, the...

I can hear the actual editors laughing at me for doing it this way.

Re: how to reconstruct audio recording with only .au files

I can think of one way that would work. Open each similarly-dated sound file on its own track top to bottom. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push each track left and right until the order makes sense when you play them. As you noticed Audacity will play everything unless you s...

Re: how to reconstruct audio recording with only .au files

it sounded to me like I was listening to all three tapes at the same time. You can't stack them up and down. Audacity will play those at the same time. That's intended (for example) to put your voice on track 1, background music on track 2 and maybe special effects (rain shower) on track 3. You can...
