Re: High Ring Sound Only When Talking Blue Snowball
I couldn't find anything wrong with either clip. "Ringing" can mean a tone that follows each spoken word very similar to what happens at the club if the band gets their microphones up a little too far. HELLO PEOPLE! EEEeeeeee....... There's also the Yeti effect. http://kozco.com/tech/audac...

Re: Recording a DJ Vinyl mix with Audacity on MAC.
You should be using Audacity 2.1.0. http://audacityteam.org/download/ But that won't solve the problem of newer iMacs not having a stereo line connection. I use a Behringer UCA-202 to get around this. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg I know you don't have PC, but rea...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
there is no clean solution and I simply need a new mic? That's the short version, yes. The combination of "inexpensive," "microphone" and "USB" is deadly. You make a microphone cheap by directly using USB power to run the super sensitive preamplifier inside the microph...

Re: Recording a Keyboard in Stereo
I don't think that cable is going to work. I think it's just a simple "Y" cable. Put one mono show into two places. The product description has to say "Stereo Splitter" and the plugs should be marked somehow Left and Right. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RCAMiniStereo-650.jpg...

Re: Noise when using Powered USB Hub to connect Audio Interf
Both my laptop and my desktop fans are being picked up in the mic. A number of people found relief by putting their machine outside the booth and using a remote monitor inside so they can keep track of their sound levels. Everybody who does this in a serious manner gets inexorably dragged into maki...

Re: Recording a Keyboard in Stereo
The computer thinks it's a stereo device. It has a real left and a real right, but you have no tools at the 2i4 to do anything between the two channels. What you plug into the left connection goes to the left channel of the stereo show. Full Stop. The mono, button, by the way is for monitoring. I do...
Re: No Sound
We get the most from your questions if you're accurate and complete. Audacity doesn't make a version 2.1. There is a 2.1.0 and multiple bogus versions that are close but no cigar. Also which windows are you using and in general, what kind of computer?
USB microphone? Which one?

Re: Recording a Keyboard in Stereo
I then turned the mic on to test what the vocals would sound like over a stereo instrumental and it did indeed sound much better than having the vocals and keyboard both mono. However upon turning on the mic I lost the ability to record the keyboard in stereo and have since been unable to recreate ...

Re: Recording a Keyboard in Stereo
Up until right there I would have flat said, forget it. The device is aggressively two channel and there's no end of people complaining about the microphone only showing up on Left or Right depending on where they plugged it in. It's not a "stereo" device. It's two channel. However, I'm sp...

Re: Suggestions on headphones?
I've been using the Sennheiser 280 PROs and they've been pretty good to me. I use them for just about everything. So you've already done the research. You're not starting from dead zero. I put a number of different headphones in a bag and headed over to a friend's house who I knew had a set of Sony...
