Re: Export makes a 15 file instead of wav or mp3
When you Export, it asks you what type of file or Format you want (attached at bottom. Click on the graphic). What does yours say? Which Audacity (all three numbers) and which Windows? When was the last time you restarted your computer. I mean shut it down to zero, go make coffee and then restart it...

Re: Phantom Powered Mics dis-connecting me from internet
In case I didn't say it in English words, test all the power sockets. Go through the whole house, eventually, but pay particular attention to the ones used by the computer system and maybe other electronics. If you're using a power strip (Waber Strip), test that, too. The test may not work in the ba...

Re: Phantom Powered Mics dis-connecting me from internet
So to make my wife happy, I tightened up the license plate bolt. Not only did the car start, but the clock, that hasn't worked in three years started going round and round. I think the very first thing I would do is go down to the hardware store and pick up an electrical socket tester. This is in t...

Re: record vocal+guitar with 2 mics, mixer & laptop on audac
On my mixer, I'm using Tape Out and it's another RCA Stereo. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyTapeOut.jpg So the interconnecting cable is RCA stereo to RCA stereo—for me. Your mixer has 1/4" connections for Left and Right. I would use 1/4" adapters to RCA like the attached pict...

Re: Blue Yeti high pitched buzz
simple solutions Emphasis on simple and implying cheap. I'm betting it's possible to build a filter that plugs into the USB line and "cleans up" the battery voltage going to the microphone... at least a bit. We're guessing it would easily double the cost of the microphone and defeats the ...

What he said. Maybe more than a handful.no simple solutions exist. If you find one, you'll be a hero to a handful of Yeti owners.

Re: USB Mic Problems
It's a magnitude thing. Microphone level is reeeely tiny. We're talking very small fractions of a volt. When designers make a microphone amplifier, they have to choose parts that do the basic electronic job, and then consider how noisy they are. Molecular level noise. Microphone signals are the butt...

Re: Improving Piano Sound.
Electronic keyboard headphone out to computer Stereo Line-In is how I did my demo sound clips. http://www.kozco.com/tech/organfinale.mp3 http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2-CoolEdit.mp3 If your computer doesn't have a good stereo Line-In (most current computers don't), then you can use a USB adapter su...

Re: ACX check
I haven't heard anything from ACX or Audible regarding the production itself. You probably won't. They're just concerned that you have a marketable product and then after that it's between you and the rights-holder. ACX said they don't listen to it. ACX will get into theatrical quality control as p...
