Re: Blue Yeti Burning smell?
SMD - Surface Mounted Devices. That's those little bugs with the hair-thin legs. I do mine under a zoom microscope and even then it's not fun. You need a soldering station with a really tiny point and there are special soldering techniques when the devices get down that small. DMM - Digital Multi Me...

Re: Complete noob, looking to see if I'm close to ACX standa
Are you using the one-click ACX Check (Zip attached) or the manual process? Unpack that Zip and slide acx-check.ny into your Audacity Plugins folder. In use It appears under Analyze, not Effects. You appear to be missing The Yeti Curse. The frying mosquitoes in the background that many people experi...

Re: record vocal+guitar with 2 mics, mixer & laptop on audac
The levels are hitting around 21. I was singing into it You have to be painfully detailed when you say things like that. We can't see you or what you're doing. Hitting 21 on what? RCA leading into my mixer. Where on the mixer? Your mixer has three different places to get the show. Tape Out? That's ...

Re: A bug with WAV resampling?
Both 2.04 and 2.10 are fake Audacity versions. You can get Audacity 2.1.0 from here:

When the installer asks to reset Preferences, say yes.

Re: Does opening a wav file with audacity degrade it?
Audacity also adds dither to the output file. Audacity does everything internally at 32-bit floating in order to avoid damage that may be caused by multiple effects and filters. The conversion back to 16-bit (assuming you're in 16-bit) always has a slight amount of intentional noise. You can turn of...
