Re: Song vocal barely audible
I assume a 1/8" stereo plug jammed into the cassette player, adapted to double RCA. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RCAMiniStereo-650.jpg and then on to the ADS Tech Instant Music. I can't find a picture of the rear. The microphone mentioned was the label of the Audacity setting, not an actu...

It's that way in the raw version, too. I think you were deep breathing in that final second. It's not obvious from listening where the sound is coming from. So yes, I think we're good to go.

Re: Complete noob, looking to see if I'm close to ACX standa
I pulled down and listened to the processed one. SMALL SECTION2 .8INPUT koz.wav I'm curious how come the leading silence and the brief silence in the middle of the passage easily pass ACX noise, but the silence at the end fails. I'm pulling the raw version down and see if I can determine what's wron...

Re: Song vocal barely audible
By the way, you can get seriously surreal results if the 1/8" plug isn't all the way in or has a bad connection. Clean with alcohol or unflavored vodka and fresh paper towels and reseat firmly, maybe two or three times.

Re: Song vocal barely audible
If you are recording from a USB device you need to choose the USB Audio CODEC for that device as the Audacity recording device. If the wrong service was being used, that would give no audio, not damaged audio. That's the magic with this question. It has an odd combination of analog and digital erro...

Re: Help Please!
I'm a Mac elf, so once you get into the internals of Windows, we'll need to wait for a Windows elf.

Re: Help Please!
That looks like a pretty serious setup. Take it in layers. Close Audacity for a while. Plug the headphones into the front of the M-Track. Scratch the microphone grill. Do you hear it and do you get the sound lights bouncing on the front? Get that sorted first. Nobody's going anywhere until the M-Tra...

Re: Complete noob, looking to see if I'm close to ACX standa
When I read " gating" in a discussion, is that referring to the quality of the edit, I.e. not including half breaths or the like? What most people mean by Gating is an abrupt unnatural switch to silence between words. I was about to say I wish I had an example of this...but I do. Rachel M...
