Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?
my audio (with effects chain) is now passing the test, at least in theory! As I have posted multiple times, the standards compliance is a robot. You either pass or your don't. The jury is out on whether or not there is a "fudge zone" at ACX. There isn't one with Audacity. If you fail, fly...

We appear to have joined in the middle of the movie. What are you doing? What's the goal, recording an AudioBook? Also which computer, operating system and the exact three-number Audacity version.

Re: Blue Yeti/G35 Background Static (frying mosquitos)
It is common for the environment to kill you before the microphone. You need to see the Audacity recording meters during the performance so that's a problem with a noisy computer. People have been known to park the computer outside the room and use a remote monitor. This is a major problem with the ...

Re: Blue Yeti/G35 Background Static (frying mosquitos)
I can come back to this in a couple of hours (portable machine not that good at listening to test clips). We did have another chapter on the ongoing saga of the Yeti Curse. It's possible that the Yeti didn't used to do this in an older or legacy design. It's only the newer ones. If I had to guess at...

Re: Voices / isolating high frequency can you help?
a simple handheld recorder Model numbers? Again, are we listening to you mess with the file? Your last posting was either heavily processed or video files, neither of them particularly useful. I have heard something like that before. http://www.hamuniverse.com/ssbaudio.mp3 Starting around 30 second...

Re: Recording Separate Sounds on Left/Right Channel
I think you picked up the movie a little too far in. How did you get the two sound files and are they actually two different files? How did you keep them in sync or rhythm with each other and did you use Audacity Overdubbing? You may not actually want what you said. That will sound very odd when one...

Re: Mac 10.6.8
Export either AIFF or WAV (cousins of each other) to the desktop. Control-Click on the sound file > Open With: iTunes. iTunes import settings are where you can change the file type (if you need to). iTunes > Preferences > General > CD Import > Import Settings.

Re: Crashing on Yosemite
So to be crystal clear, if I try that process and I don't restart Audacity in the middle, I will experience an Audacity crash? When? When I try to save the file? And also, we're talking about Saving a Project, right, not Exporting a WAV or other file? What kind of files are you exporting? What are y...

Re: How Do I Record Mic and Computer Audio
There is a program called voicemeeter which is supposed to be able to make up additional pathways and connections. I've never used it. http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/ I do it with a sound mixer and an analog microphone. It's not visible in this pix, but there is a theatrical headse...

Re: Phantom Powered Mics dis-connecting me from internet
I've since learned to reset everything by unplugging my ATT Uverse box and then plugging back in after about 10 minutes. Still, a bad internet connection doesn't create that much damage. Maybe a bad power system was one of its failures. The servicing people would not have stopped to diagnose it. Th...
