Re: Radio Commercial
Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push track 2 so the trailing voice of track one matches up with the leading voice of track two. Yes, that means track two has to start before the end of track one. Don't worry about the silent stretches, they should vanish if the recording is qu...

Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?
Post it just as it comes out. Don't help it. We had one poster who had really odd sound clips on the forum and it turned out he was trying to "help us hear it" by making the clip louder with the volume sliders. True, he wasn't applying any effects or filters, but still. That threw us off f...

Re: Windows 7 Audacity Remove Baby Screaming
Number 4. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don't record the show in your mum's kitchen.) -- 2. Overload and Clipping (Sound that's recorded too loud is permanently trashed.) -- 3. Compression Damage (Never do pro...

Re: wave form cut off, not showing clipping
Audacity 2.1 is a bogus version. You can get Audacity 2.1.0 from here. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Which Windows do you have? What are you recording and how do you have it connected? If your system is whacking off the tops and bottoms of the blue waves, you are clipping whether not not Audacit...

Unzip the ZIP file into the _DATA folder and its contents. Put the _DATA folder and the AUP file in the same place or folder and double click on the AUP file.

Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?
Indeed the whistles associated with your esses are truly piercing. I don't know that it's whistling. I just hear a system that really likes frequencies between 5KHz and 15KHz. Attached, that's around the 4.3 second mark. It's not crunchy or harsh beyond the S sound being much too loud in comparison...

Re: Trying to mix 2 audio files together
If you File > Import two audio tracks into Audacity one after the other, they should arrive one over the other and play at the same time. Isn't that what you have?

Re: Beat sequencing
We can't do music generation and Audacity doesn't manage MIDI very well. I don't know of any way to "press this button and get a violin." If you can find a drum pad set that has an analog audio out, you could use Audacity to record that without any actual drum sound in the apartment. Just ...

You could post a little bit of good and then bad sound here.

You shouldn't get too excited about a fix. Audacity doesn't do well with cleaning up sound damage.

Let's step away from the shipping list for a second [said in a calm, reassuring voice] and work on the show. Describe the show. In detail. Music at the opening, announcer/presenter and then the for or five guests talking. Then taking questions on the Skype connection and maybe more music. Then the c...
